Black Forest Ham Sold At Sam’s Club And Costco Recalled For Possible Rubber Fragments

A customer who bought a pre-cooked ham at a warehouse club noticed something chewy that wasn’t supposed to be there, and reported “various sized pieces of what appeared to be rubber material” embedded in the ham. That’s not supposed to be a thing, and the company that packed the hams, which were sold to Costco and Sam’s Club, has announced a recall.

Hams that are part of the recall were imported from Canada, and will be marked “Est. #337” with a packing code of 16 OC 2016.

The good news is that the person who did find the problem wasn’t harmed in any way other than finding what appeared to be rubber pieces embedded in her or her ham.

As far as the U.S. Department of Agriculture knows, no one else has found items in this product that didn’t belong, and no one else was harmed.

If you have any questions about the product or about the recall, contact the company at 855-763-4621. Don’t eat the ham, but bring it back to the retailer or throw it out.

Since the products all came from warehouse clubs, the club may have already contacted you about this recall.
